Set the role and context for the neural network
To prevent the translation from looking mechanical, first specify the role model. Write who the author of the text is and for whom it is intended. For example, explain to the neural network that you need to translate technical documentation for engineers or a marketing post for young people. Context helps the AI assistant choose the correct vocabulary, tone, and avoid literal translation of idioms. This significantly saves your time on manual editing.
Provide a glossary of terms
If your material contains specific terms or brand names, create a short glossary. Upload it along with the source code and ask the neural network to strictly adhere to these rules. This will prevent confusion when the same term is translated differently in different paragraphs. This approach is especially important for legal documents and technical instructions. Spending two minutes on the glossary will give you a clean result.
Customize the style and tone of the text
Specify the desired translation tone. A neural network can translate the same text in a formal, friendly or academic manner. You can set a limit on the length of sentences or ask them to adapt the humor to the realities of the target country. Formulate your requirements directly: for example, “translate this text into English in a conversational style, avoiding archaisms.” The more specific the tone of voice requirements, the more lively the final material will look.
Use the double transfer method
Use back translation to check the accuracy of important material. First translate the text into the target language, and then ask another neural network session to translate the result back into the source language. Compare the resulting text with the original. This will quickly identify logical distortions, missing details, and ambiguous phrases that need to be corrected before publication. The method is great for important business proposals and presentations.
Proofread and finalize the result
Even an advanced language model sometimes makes mistakes or makes up facts. Always check translated numbers, proper names and dates. Read the text aloud to evaluate its naturalness and rhythm. The neural network takes care of 90% of the routine translation work, but final quality control always remains with the person. This ensures that there are no ridiculous mistakes.
