Narrow real pain
💡 A bit of theory

A good first AI product is narrow and solves a specific pain point, not “AI for everyone.” Criteria for a strong idea: solves a real, recurring problem that people are already trying to solve (which means it's real); a narrow audience that you understand (often - your own pain, “scratch your itch”); AI provides a clear advantage (saves time or money where manual labor used to be); small enough to launch solo in weeks rather than years. The big idea sounds great, but it can't be made or sold alone. Rule: take the narrow real pain of specific people, where AI clearly helps and that you can handle alone - “for everyone” means “for no one.”
