Make an informed decision
💡 A piece of theory

Choice is a comparison based on criteria, not a dispute of emotions. First, write down what is really important to you: money, stability, freedom, risk, growth. Then ask the model to analyze each option according to these criteria - conveniently in the form of a table of pros and cons - and only then make a recommendation. The first technique (Stillman is a technique where each side is defended in the strongest possible version): ask the model to first defend each option separately as honestly as possible, like a lawyer. Otherwise, she will understand what you are clearly leaning towards and will begin to assent rather than help. Second technique: ask to indicate certainty and what would change the decision (“if stability is more important to you than freedom, the conclusion is different”), plus name one or two facts that are not enough for a confident choice. A common rookie mistake: asking “what should I do?” without criteria, you will get average advice about nothing. And be careful with leading wording like “prove that freelancing is better”: a thinking model, like a person, tends to agree with the one asking the question.
